Yeah, it's not worth it. I finally caved and looked today (rubbernecker syndrome, damn it).
I can't say I'm surprised that once someone started name-bashing more people piled on. I AM surprised and disgusted by whoever thought it was a good idea to start the comm in the first place. People on the net need more anonymity and invitations to rant? Really?
I'm as guilty of arguing on the internet as anyone -- it'd be idiotic to deny it. I'm certain there are times when in the heat of argument I've stepped over a line. But this is stepping over a whole other line entirely. I remember being pretty disgusted with the arguments/actions of one of the people called out on the anonmeme, but really -- engage during the argument or let it go.
Once again I'm left trying to remind myself that constructive, assertive communication is a learned skill, and one none of us are great at %100 of the time. There IS actually room between 'tone trolling' and 'ad hominem.'
