And yes, not only was he surprisingly hip (oh, man, he teaches a class called "Papa Pete's Pop Culture and Popcorn") he seemed totally at ease with all our pride gear. Not that he ever addressed it directly, but when at one point he was telling a story about an artist who's work they had in the library, and said "She painted a lot on the theme of this man she was in love with, but it was totally unrequited, because he loved another man. It's too bad -- one of her friends should have sat her down and explained what was going on." Which was decidedly non-judgemental and kind after what we'd heard that morning.
One of the other staff members was wearing an 'I Side with the Sisters" button, too, which makes me suspect that this particular catholic establishment tends towards the more liberal american version and less towards the whims of Pope Palpatine.
