Understandable! It's pretty hard to visualize -- even people who know what they're doing get confused, because remodeling is all modifying idiosyncratic old stuff, instead of building new to standard. It makes it complicated. I'll put pictures/explanations in my next post. :)

And, really, and icky as Saturday morning felt, these things just happen in remodeling, and we haven't run into anything we can't deal with thus far.
