It's very strange to wander back onto my LJ after just under a year and realize that my last real journal-type posts were from back when I thought two weeks of work missed due to illness was excessive. Back before I knew that particular crud would last three months.

And be followed by allergies to grass that swelled my eye shut.

Followed by whole-body mystery urticaria.

Hello, Livejournal! Last time I talked to you I was just getting into the illness and emotional crap that would eventually help trigger a new stage in my undiagnosed autoimmune disorder!

And now, a year later? I'm finally seeing a rheumetologist on Wednesday. WHOO!

ALSO I HAVE AN ART STUDIO AND I'M SITTING IN IT.

Welcome back to the real world!

Ah, yes, the time trap.

I'm much less free about what I say over there, as you've probably noticed. Mostly fun things, unless the political thing I find is REALLY good.

I was about to say "Oh, no, you don't owe me anything --" and then I remembered. YOU HAVE MY HAT! :P

I'll try. One of the reasons I faded out of LJ is that it's just so darn easy to post pics to FB and tumblr. Kinda frustrated with every image hosting site I've used.

And yes, it's been a sucky LJ vacation, really. But there were some good bits! Pinniped has played some great gigs, and there was an Irish Music Camp where the instructor from County Cavan looked exactly like my mom's dad. And we did a crazy whirlwind holiday trip to Yosemite and dressed in fancy clothes!

I keep seeing it and thinking, "Dammit, I have to mail that." and then being overwhelmed again by school.

I blame college.

I understand and sympathize. Though it's work+band+freelance+yard+imminent 'vacation' for me.

I'm still not sure I can honestly refer to it as a 'vacation' when I'm flying across the country to spend 7 days with my outlaws. o_O

Yeah, visiting outlaws isn't always a vacation. I like going to England, but sometimes I wish I could go and pretend - to the outlaws - that we're there for less time than we are, so we can spend some time on our own without any worries about "getting home on time".

If you find a way to post to LJ from one's phone, with pictures, can you let me know? *waggle eyebrows* I miss posting-by-text.
