I'm a little blue engine
I've reached a slower point after far too many late nights working on web design. I should be able to take a few deep breaths and reaquaint myself with sleep. Of course, I haven't quite earned my reward yet, but finishing the 2nd web project and knowing the grade is a step in the right direction (A-, despite the fact that it was technically late).
Today I put part of my multinational multi-hundred-dollar conspiracy into action. Now to sit back and wait for results. The timing isn't all it could be, but late is better than never, right? Yesterday I registered for classes, so I know my winter schedule - I have never been such a slacker, credit wise. It kicks ass. Senior studio seminar with Sharron and Prof practices with Tom Johnson, and 2 credit design production lecture with Elsi to make up the credits for a full load. I'm already filled with ideas for progressing my 'body of work' (doesn't it sound delightfully pretentious?).
Now, to survive until winter quarter. For my own clarification as well as an explanation of why I erratically appear at BS of Comics and haven't held any more poker nights this year, here's the .
Final web design project - personal portfolio site - useful for more than just a grade! Since i was planning on doing this in my freetime, doing it for a grade is GREAT...now, to keep that momentum.
Lummi Island Lavender website - the layout comps are on Sharron's desk right now. I told her I'd have the finished product by the end of finals week. Finishing this project means the added excitment of a pay check!
Art History research paper - This really doesn't interest me, and the library sent back the book I ordered 'cause I didn't pick it up fast enough. My 'imaginary score' from our first hand-in isn't so hot, but considering my midterm grades and the fact that it's mostly technical citation stuff...I'm not too concerned.
Grad School Applications - I'm applying to at least four schools (might go up to five following a tip I just got). Each requires three letters of recomendation, a print portfolio (every format is someone different, helpfully), several personal essays, and some filthy lucre.
Schedule/Attend a Reuhmatology appointment - it seems silly, but I keep forgetting and I need to get it done before the new year, when our insurance reverts. They'll probably tell me my fingers'll fall off.
At least two new drawing peices - I need to show more sketching skills in my grad school portfolio. At least one peice will be a new less crappy self portrait. Other'n that, who knows?
Pursuing teaching opportunity - I need to call the friend of a friend who's interested in fiddle lessons for her daughter. Teaching is not on my skill list, but it's worth a try.
comics - Last but not least. Comics are much more important than my fingers falling off, right? I need to finish the 'Latte' and I have an idea for a very college town 2nd Thoughts for the ashcan. Add to that some amount of Butch & Spike...I'm not sure what the current Bugle plans are re:how many strips. This also counts as fun.
Y'know, I think I'll go take a nap!
