Well, I cheated again -- the only real new sketch this week was from life, at a Randal Bays concert at traditions. The concert was marvelous for many reasons, but the sketch isn't, particularly:





I had so much trouble with Randal that I didn't have enough time for Dave Matthias, which is a little unfair, since I've drawn Randal a lot and I've never heard Matthias play before. Oops! Also, the scanner totally blew out all the lights -- it's not a great likeness, but it's better than it appears here.

I also played a bit with the snuggle-sketch, but I haven't had enough time at work to get very far, and I've reached that almost-finished-sketch stage where I'm not sure *where* I'm going -- there are umpteen ways to color digitally, and I have to scrabble about until I find one that works for me, and after hours of that I'll probably realize the sketch was all wrong. Oh well.





Not cut or flocked to the sketch filter because everyone should listen to Randal play:

With the Joker sketch, have you tried flipping it? Sometimes that just shows you were everything went wrong.

I liked the performance! Do they have any other youtube clips? It's the exact type of thing I like to listen to while I draw.

Also, er, I went to check on youtube, but I totally got distracted by the best-worst Original Series Star Trek song-mashup vid EVAR, and then it was all kirk/spot to music downhill from there, and I totally forgot what I was looking for.

So, er, anyway. Since if you like this, I have other people to recommend, perhaps I'll put together a real recommendation video post?

After I get done with the star trek hillarity, honestly.
