Slow Progress
June 29th, 2005 10:59 amI have achieved storage!
Yes, yes, a new six foot tall bookcase that I was in desperate need of. There are STILL a few books on the floor, but I think I can find places for them. It's real furniture and storage! Marvelous!
START MEME
The stuffs what we gots shows our deep inner whatsits. Hence, I'm breaking down what I have on shelves.
On my shelves I have roughly:
7' feet of fantasy/sci-fi (upper two feet reserved for pretty hardback copies)
2.5' of art'n'architecture (commentary, how-to, history, etc)
2.5' of other fiction (mystery, historical, 'literature')
1' of large format non-fiction
1'6" of borrowed books, mostly from
westrider and Trik.
1'+ of music, mostly in the form of 'fake books', dots for learning tunes
1' language/travel/traveldiary. I don't know, on my shelves 'bicycling the San Juans' and the latin version of 'Winnie the Pooh' fall into the same genre.
2.5' of arty references (anatomy books) and pads of paper/binders - mostly the latter.
2.5' of art supplies
1' of technical reference books, all leftover from WWU art classes.
1' more humor and random
I think that about covers it.
/END MEME
In other productive news, I've created a partial re-vamp/addition to the Butch & Spike main page, which will be up Friday, probably at it's new home at www.bs.skellingtonart.com . It's a not-too-shabby bit of photoshopping, if I do say so myself (Actually, a not-too-shabby bit of photoshop, illustrator, and dreamweaver). Only the start of bigger and better things, mateys! I figure any improvements to my webpages help my chances of getting web design jobs...right?
The job search remains sluggish. I'll be in Tacoma for tall ships, leaving Oly thursday night. Back tuesday morning, then up to Tacoma AGAIN for a dentist appointment tuesday or wednesday...I forget. Then I'm taking Terri'n'Rob up on their offer of floorspace at fiddle tunes, so I'll mooch some music-campy goodness for a day or two.
After that, and with my cold clearing up, I will really have no excuse not to be more proactive in the job hunting arena.
