Found necklace!
June 4th, 2013 09:24 amYAY! I found my necklace -- the one with the great sentimental value that I thought I lost at Folklife -- in my bedroom. Apparently when I stumbled home exhausted at midnight I took it off, put it in the wrong drawer, and blanked the whole scene between car and bed from my memory. I found the bell with its cord tangled into the tines of a hair brush I barely ever use.
:)
I suppose I could fess up, too... this is not technically the bell that the Z's gave me for playing at Ruth's memorial. THAT one fell off at high school two weeks after I got it. I was so cut up about it that my parents replaced it (with the same thing from the same place) and ever since I've always tied the cord instead of trusting the clearly untrustworthy catch. I'm a bit paranoid about it, though.
Ruth collected bells, so it was not only a lovely thank you gift, but a very fitting memento. I never thought to ask whether she chose it, but she'd planned her memorial so carefully she may have. She actually requested that I play, and which piece I play, before she died.
