Ladies and Gentlemen, I have for your perusal several fine specimens of the Ovine persuasion, who feel themselves lost, adrift - bereft of identity.

I need names for these sheep. I need them by the first week of March, so that I can have them ready to bring to a gallery. I'm looking for funny, silly, cute sobriquets or captions.

"What's in it for me?" I hear you ask. Besides my undying appreciation, a PRINT! If, after my highly subjective and no-doubt alcohol fueled judging process, I decide to use a name which you suggested, I shall send a high-quality print of the named piece(s) to your domicile.

Sheep 1

Sheep 3

Sheep 4

Sheep 5

Sheep6

Sheep7

Sheep8

It might not be speedy (sheep aren't, as a rule) - I won't send out a print until I'm happy with the quality. I certainly won't be making any from these snapshots (currently I'm leaning towards paying my good neighbor Steve over at Vento Photographyto make the dig files - he makes my art look good.

Only two pieces already have names - "Stargrazing" and "I don't know - how did you get here?" If that helps you out any.

Well, "Sheeplets" should be in there somewhere. Perhaps #6 or #8.

For some bizarre reason, when I look at #3 (which I am rather fond of) I hear a little voice in the back of my head saying "And now, for your eweing pleasure..." The voice bears a strong resemblance to Mr. Curtis. Scary. Very scary.

Aww, they're so cute. I love those sheep.

I like "In Search of Greener Pastures" for 1 or 6.

I'm quite taken with 7, but I'm not sure what I'd call it ... "Silhouetted," maybe, or "Dark Side of the Moon."

I also love 3 beyond all coherency. Such a little cruiser! But that wool coat must be bugging him ...

Ooh, ooh, #7: Dark Sheep of the Moon!

First off, I love these Saj! I know I've said that, but I'm saying it again. I particularly enjoy the new #7 (which I don't think you'd done when I was visiting).

So, suggestions (such as they are):

#1 or #6 - "Counting Space Sheep Helps Stars Sleep"
#5 - I still adore this one, but all I can come up with is "Wool Cycle"
#7 - "Ewe-clipse" (though I quite like westrider's suggestion for that one)
#8 - Didn't you say something about "Returning to the Mother-Sheep"?

I don't know. I like the bad puns for these. ( :

So having shown these pictures to some of my friends over here, my friend Ruth (who is from York originally) has said that one of them should be named Eh Up Love, of course said in a broad Yorkshire accent for full effect as there are a lot of sheep in yorkshire. She thinks it goes best with number 6. These were great to see when I was over loved all of them.
