I was the first.

I am very likely the first and only person to have played Irish fiddle while wearing a top hat and a Yukata.
In other words, having Kiyoko visit for a week was fabulously fun. We did the tourist list with special additions like a ride in our likkle boat and horse riding, because when I asked Kiyo-chan if she'd ever done that she said she'd 'patted one once'. My house is more lonely now, and I'm planning a trip to Japan.
In other news, my work situation has stabilized slightly. $13/hour, but only 15 hrs per week. This AFTER I said one of those things you're not supposed to say to your boss on the phone ("Oh, SHIT, Hold on, I'm about to get run over by a horse.").
Speaking of things not to say to people, I face the judge in traffic court sometime soon. And by face, I mean grovel. Abjectly. I hear rumour that showing at court can lessen the ticket, or more importantly, get options to get the thing off your record. So go I shall...current strategems batted about by the familia include Rumpole's "There is a GOLDEN THREAD that winds through British (scratch that, American) judisprudence, THE PRESUMPTION OF INNOCENCE!" and the less dramatic and yet more dangerous "Yes, Y'r Honor...I was speeding. I'm not innocent *eyelashes* But I'm sweet."
Any more tips about how the Skellington should conduct herself before the bench? Remember, you don't want hardened criminals like me getting away with this 11 miles over the speedlimit on the freeway nonesense! No siree!
Getting pulled over WAS a real American experience for the Japanese girls, though.
Today was a good day, because I decided I'd devote the first two hours to comicing, and ended up devoting at least five hours. I've decided to draft out a kind of weekly schedule. Work is WF, either M or T (or both) must be devoted to job hunting for something to fill up the other 25 hours, and the remaining time shall be DEVOTED to art/comic/design. I need to start treating it like a job, at least until I have something else to make ends meet.
And with all that comic-y goodness? I will get the 2nd Thoughts Comic I started today up to B'ham before October 1st, in hopes that the show organisers can find room for it.
