Luxury, decadence, and moths
June 9th, 2007 08:33 pmYesterday was all about animals, and traveling hither and yon to pat various four-footed critters with Emily Doolittle. I've now bathed a horse! And patted it. Vigorously. Also patted dogs and many, many kittens.
Today mom and I went to a bunch of vintage and antique stores downtown, searching for fun things for me to wear at
fenmere's 1920s/prohibition style wedding. Which is to say, the actual wedding party is dressing like that, it wasn't an edict issued to attendees. But I like playing dress-up, so. Didn't find any lovely flapper relics*, but I did find a fairly recent dress that is absolutely gorgeous, and even cooler, absolutely gorgeous on me. It was also an absolutely gorgeous stupendous $185, so I decided I'd stick with jeans and camis instead of draped-silk beaded evening gowns. For now.
I did buy a $30 piece of jewelry. FOR MY HAIR! And I've discovered that I really enjoy trying on ridiculous hats, something I hated when my mom did it to me as a kid.
*It's okay. I have a backup plan. Did you know flappers wore FEATHERS? On their HEADS! That's so cool.
