Fenmere's wedding was fun, and not just because I got to wear a feather (flapper accesories are FUN!). He and [livejournal.com profile] coffiejunkie looked wonderful, the service was the best kind (short!), and hey, live music! I do regret that I never found the speakeasy. It had to be around there somewhere.

[livejournal.com profile] kehrli had the most rivetting tie I have ever seen. You may think you have an astounding tie, but next to this tie, it curls up into a little wad of mediocre shame. I finally connected [livejournal.com profile] criada with "face I've seen around" and her actual name. [livejournal.com profile] celtic_tiger convinced me to dance by pointing out that we looked like dorks anyway and dancing wouldn't make it worse, for which I'm grateful. [livejournal.com profile] q13_exe was a gentleman and not only held my keys for me but returned them before I did anything rash. Chatted with [livejournal.com profile] crazitalk and picked up my copies of Studio 347: Year One (a comic that I'm IN!).

Before the wedding I hung out with Keffy and [livejournal.com profile] oolong and the Drop for awhile. And by "hung out" I mean "talked at them while they actually tried to be productive".

I realised that if I ever move back to B'ham, it'll be for the co-op (and a bit for the BS, too). I really, really like the co-op. I bought a cap there on a whim, then stopped by the Downtown Emporium and found one by the same company that was cuter, cheaper, and 87% less communist.* Oh well. This is the price one pays for spur-of-the-moment purchasing. Speaking of, it's really nice to spend a weekend in B'ham when I actually have money. I'm not rolling in it, but I'm no longer a broke student. I enjoy not having to worry about grocery money, which is why it's highly unlikely I'll ever move back to Hellingbam. Fitting...the Herald's Sunday headline was about Whatcom county underemployment (wages at roughly 75% of state average...ouch).

Coming to Bham is a kind of homecoming, and [livejournal.com profile] fenmere does have to remind me on occasion that there I'm merely a visiting noble. Returning to my own fiefdom in the south is more stressful, because I have to make sure no one's done anything silly to it while I've been gone. Olympia feels over-familiar at times, but I know exactly where to go when I need a handful of tiny ninjas in a hurry. There's something to be said for that.

*My cap salutes the chairman, has been blacklisted, and will never work in this town again.
