I took last week off. The first amazing thing was that I woke up on Friday (the start of my normal weekend) feeling lighthearted and generally awesome. I then proceeded to do almost nothing useful the entire weekend, and not feel guilty about it, because I knew I had the week off to do useful things.
I played ME3MP, practiced music stuff (vocal and fiddle), and went on the first long bike ride with my bike buddy in months (we did 46 miles, which isn't too shabby considering my lack of long rides this year!). Oh, and Pinniped had a gig on Sunday, which was a lot of fun. A few coworkers and friends showed up, we had a decent reception, and we played damn well (
westrider, we played at Kitzel's, where you saw us last, but we had a monitor which really helped us stay tight in that space). We even had our brand new business cards, which arrived in the nick of time (I highly recommend GotPrint for anyone looking for a cheap web-based printer -- I've never been dissatisfied with them).
Then Monday came, and I attempted to actually get things done.
( House, Yarden, and Bike -- Picture heavy! )
I pretty much failed to get any writing done or to work on the 30-days drawing thing, but other than that it felt pretty productive.
The only unfortunate thing about the vacation -- besides the fact that they can never be long enough for everything I want to do -- is that I started dreading going back to work on Friday. That's at least two days more impending-doom feeling than I really needed, thanks.
