Hoo boy.
It can occasionally be difficult to predict one's limits in any particular situation (which doesn't negate all that crap I wrote about how you know you're own limits; you might not make a spot-on prediction, but your prediction is still going to be better than anyone else's).
Case in point: our gig yesterday versus the entire day at PAX, as far as my ankle is concerned.
( overlong ramble about the specific limits of my lower right extremity )
I suppose all of this is just a way to say I feel totally justified in sitting on my ass writing and playing video games today, despite the beautiful weather. Yesterday was a tigerbalm + aleve night, and this morning it took awhile to achieve something near normal locomotion, and those are good enough excuses for me.
Anyway, we rocked and we looked great! The event was a fundraising masquerade ball, and it was great to see all the office-worker-by-day types getting to play dress up. Some people really went for it. There was a guy in full period dress introducing himself as Ben Franklin (he kissed my hand. If someone introduces themselves as Ben Franklin and doesn't kiss your hand, you should be offended. At least if you're a lady identified person).
I wore the green dress, and the beak mask when I wasn't playing, and I gave E a facepaint mask (since he wears glasses). There were several photographers there, so we should have pics coming eventually. There's also an If I Had A Million Dollars picture I made E take after we got home and Monkey climbed on my shoulders while I was wearing the green dress (haven't you always wanted a Monkey?). I didn't think of grabbing a ketchup bottle until we'd started to get ready for bed, unfortunately.
