Er, I actually have an external hard-drive and a secondary drive and everything whatsoever I need to back shit up. I just was crappy about it. It's entirely my own damn fault.
I'm familiar with master/slave terminology -- I just have to either turn the back-up into a boot drive or get my housemate to let me use his machine. Maybe better to buy a whole new hard-drive and make that the boot, just for safety. Hmmm...
