We finally cleaned up a few audio files from a gig -- not studio recording quality by any means, but at least Pinniped can have SOMETHING online -- and I want to know the favorite service for hosting such things. Obviously I can just throw the MP3s up on my own host, but there are a bunch of other options out there that probably have easier integration with other web services, and I don't know about 'em.

Anyone enlighten me?

And yes, in case you've been one of the people asking, this DOES mean you'll be able to hear a few snippets of us in the near future!

Several of the bands I know really like BandCamp.com (i.e. my nephew's band ( 20riverside.bandcamp.com ) and Zoe Keating (http://www.zoekeating.com/ ), who is an amazing independent artist, has bandcamp embedded in her side to serve audio and also sell CDs.

That site looks great!

If you ever want raw exposure, with the full power of social networking to spread the word, there really is none higher than YouTube. For non-videos, you would either do a slight show or a single static image, such as a portrait of the band. But I recommend at least a slide show.

Short of YouTube, bandcamp.com looks like as fine a choice as anything else out there.
