now I'm coming back home
I've been alone, now,
oh how I've been alone...

But Beattles aside, I haven't been alone. In fact, I've been busy. My jobs now number not 0, not 1, but 2.5! Or 3, or something. Working for chris barnes design, inc. Weekends at Olympia Art & Frame (the art supply store formerly known as OPAS). Evenings'n'Days-off are for two freelance clients, or more recently, the paperwork that goes with them. Coffee-Breaks are for overwhelming feelings of inadequacy.

So, life progresses. I'm still stressed by job number 1, want to do the best I possibly can with the freelance jobs number 3, and Dad just dangled a state job announcement in front of me that would be a considerably higher paying, benefit giving,resume-clout granting alternative to job number 2...

But job number 2 is the one I'm the most comfortable and relaxed at. Yeah, it's retail. Yeah, it's 8.50/hr. But the people there kick ass, I'm surrounded by inspiring art supplies, I can read how-to books when no-one's there, I get a 40% discount, and dammit, they make me feel competent and welcome. After a week working, I even have a frickin' stocking.

Note - it's not that anyone else is trying to make me feel unwelcome, but I do frequently feel that i can talk the talk but not walk the walk. They labor under a delusion of my competence.

But enough griping.

[livejournal.com profile] klorkdean, Meagan of [livejournal.com profile] tequila_floor, et al. ought to let me know what they currently need/desire in the way of art supplies. New Year is coming up, and that's when I'm sending out presentses. There's a possibility things won't get to B'ham until I can bring 'em personally in January or February, but still - clue me in!

[livejournal.com profile] westrider, because I know I'll forget to call when you're awake, does the IKEA sale run during the week, too, or just the weekends? 'Cause just the weekend SUCKS, but I could probably manage to swap a day the weekend of the 6th. Looking forward to moving out w/ you, getting life on track, getting high speed internet for my speedy new laptop... :)

[livejournal.com profile] fenmere, I'm sorry you're stuck wif my art. Can you hang onto it until Jan/Feb? Take a print or three as thankyou, yes?

Rick, Kristin, the other D&Ders, and Jared (who is the one who might actuallly see this journal), giant thanks for making sure I'm doing something other than work, and seeing someone other than boss'n'parents. Keeps one sane, y'know?

Besides, Sorceress Ex is going to KICK ASS. :) In a sexy way.

More and better updates later, hopefully from the laptop and a cafe.

I'd offer you my sympathies on the job decision, yet being unemployed myself, I can't quite bring myself to do it. :)

I am indeed home, but I will be spending this weekend at my mother's otherwise I would have given you a call. As for having my BA, that really depends on how well I did on the monster of Final in my "God Damn British History Class." tm But given the amount of studying I did for that thing i'm not quite as worried as I was going into it. As for needing huggins, I most certainly do! I'll try and get in touch with you sometime next week, when I get back from my moms.

Sadly, I shall be in vancouver, WA not B'ham as I just graduated. YAR.

As for art supplies? Watercolor anything is happy.

*hugs*

HI. That is all I really have for you. Right NOW I am in Denver and spent some time skiing. IF you want to be a touring elec, I would give feld a look. They are looking for people right now. Not artsy, but lots of fun on some days. I miss you Saja!
