Writer's Block: Lessons Learned

Yes -- Olympia has a fantastic farmers market, and Tumwater has a teeny little Wednesday one about two blocks from where I work.
I used to shop at the Oly market more than I do now, though. Partly it's that I've been bad about planning meals ahead, and partly it's that I don't seem to be downtown as much -- Safeway is in walking distance, while the market requires a bike (or cash, if I'm doing the Tumwater one, and I almost never have cash).
It's one of the healthy/earth-concious trade-offs I make. I choose not to own a car, and use my bike and the bus as my main transportation. That means that geographical convenience becomes a bigger part in deciding where to shop, though -- that's one of the reasons I don't shop at the local co-ops, for instance (there are other reasons, but that's a big one).
Then there are other sources -- I used to always buy eggs at the Oly market. You can't beat 2.50$ a dozen... until a friend comes along and offers you a dozen a week for $2 and a chance to name a chicken on their hobby farm. :P
I still buy all of my vegetable plant starts at one or t'other farmers' market. I'll try and make more use of it as the summer growing season picks up, too. The really cool thing is that my BF works practically next door to the market, so I can stash groceries in their work fridge on Friday and he can bring 'em home later. :P
