Twitter for twits

Finally driven to get a twitter account for one reason and one reason only.

Man, that's a sucky form of communication. Like society needs to be more over-simplified, black-and-white, and sound-bytey.

Special challenges do make one want to get experimental, though. Hard to resist urge to write haiku.

Articulate twitter messages are an artform, I'll admit. But I really love being able to text the world without the world knowing my cell number~

True, the world shouldn't know my cell number. Heck, I don't even know my cell number half the time (seriously, just had to give it to someone and totally spaced).

...and speaking of being a dork, I was thinking of our conversation about being old-for-ones-age last night. While I played with play-do to keep my fingers occupied during a D&D game. Old for my age. Right.

Pride cometh before a what now?

I believe the term is fall, although it is probably a bit late as the season is, I gather, well advanced in your neck of the woods. Me? I'm gazing out the window at lawns that need mowing again^* even though they were knocked into shape only a week ago...

* damned buttercups! [mutter, mutter]

...wait, there are damned buttercups all the way down there, too? I cannot get rid of them in my back yard. It's hopeless!

And yes, it is well advanced. In fact, there was a dusting of that white frozen water stuff in the yard when I woke up this morning. Snow before thanksgiving! What is the world coming to?!

It seems to be particularly nice if you're on the go, for stuff like Keffy's recent "Joining the Occupy march on my commute home." "A little old lady has a sign saying 'grandmas against bullshit.'" I find it's also nice at large gatherings, where you can announce and keep an eye out for spontaneous activities. (I learned about a spontaneous Tad Williams signing at a con that way. I was in a panel at the time, and wouldn't have been able to just walk by and discover it.)
But yeah, totally sound bitey.

I hadn't thought about the large gathering angle -- that could be kinda cool. 'Course, most of the large gatherings I go to where it'd be cool, the other people are more ludite than me.

Also, Keffy is GOOD at being amusing in short bursts. :)
