The Bowl has Broken
June 5th, 2005 10:07 pmYea, and it was a token from above, or from below, or verily, from the In-The-Middle; for the bowl, the bowl that presenteth sustenance, the one bowl that I had possesed or that had possesed me, this one rice bowl that cameth from Uwagimaya, the bowl that lasted year upon year in the service of college life, through the ramen times, and the rice times, it has broken.
In twain.
Just in twain, and twain be the number...two...deuce...be the number to which you shall count; no more, no less.
Clearly, thought I, it is a sign that my college life is soon to be over! And in past times, when I would have cried for the loss of so beloved a bowl, I instead thought unto myself: "Well, that's one less thing to pack."
