November 5th, 2008 09:33 amCalifornia, you disappoint me, but in the spirit of the morning I think something will be done about you - and if we work at it, it'll apply elsewhere, too. In the meantime, this comic is brilliant.
John Scalzi's reality check post is a worthwhile read. Personally, it doesn't even touch my glee, because I was aware of what he points out going in, and I'm jubilant not because I think we've reached some kind of nirvana, but because of the difference between this election and the last two presidential elections. When you've just pulled yourselves out of a pit, ground level looks pretty good. Especially if you spent the last 8 years thinking that the other people in the pit with you liked it there.
