So ME3 fandom is basically like this:



...and the game isn't out yet.

I already knew I'd be dissappointed in one respect, and now I'm a bit concerned about others, as well. Luckily the game play is going to be awesome, regardless of all else, and I'm sure there'll be wonderful banter and great writing along the way, regardless of whether I like where it actually goes.

Ready for the damn thing to drop, though, so the speculation can end.

Reading this, it just became crystal clear to me that all this may in fact make up for the ending, if it's as bad as everyone says.

Because despite all of DA2s flaws (and good lord, there are many), not the least of which is that most of Act III is shite and they botched the ending in many respects, I continue to go back to it repeatedly because I love so much of the stuff they put into it in Acts I and II and the characters which I love so much.

If ME3 parallels that at all, I probably won't care how terrible the end is. (ETA): No, that's not true. I'll care. A lot. But I'll replay it anyway because the positives of the earlier stuff > the disappointment.

The thing that Gets to me more than the spoilers right now is that so many of them have been based on half-formed scripts and speculation.

The nerdrage may very well be justified, but let's base it on the finalized game that everyone has access to and can form first-hand opinions, instead of spewing around conclusions based on second-hand hearsay.

Banter + game play may help me really enjoy it once, but if DAII is anything to go by... I actually have no desire to play it again. :( I could be surprised, though! It could be spectacular.

I just really doubt it, at this point.

I agree on the writing and gameplay will make up for it. Part of me still holds out hope there's an "perfect" ending we don't know about, but . . . yeah I just want the game out so I can get rid of this anxious feeling.

Arggh, yes. There's actually weird anxious shit going down at my work, too, where there's something kinda big going on but none of us know or are allowed to know what it is, and I'm just ready for some resolution somewhere.

While I'm glad others can do this (really!), I'm not one of them. If it's great writing up until the end, or if the ending is complete and utter horseshit, then it spoils the enjoyment of the whole for me.

Though your gif did make me chuckle. Even though I'm one of those wialing about my glass case. ;-)

Honestly, I think it's a bit helpful for me that I've known for months that the story I care about would only happen in my head. I knew I was going to be firing the head-can(n)on so hard shit wouldn't know what hit it, so adding something else is slightly less difficult.

I'm still not pleased, believe me. I'm having a glass-case day, too!

Yeah, I can see where that might make things overall a little easier. I wanted a Disney Ever After, but knew it would never happen. I would have happily taken even just a hint that a Disney Ever After might be possible - just something hopeful and uplifting, you know? Given the nature of the series, I didn't think that was too much to ask for or an unrealistic expectation.

I'm hella pissed off about some parts and really, really worried about others... but I just gave in and preordered the damn thing anyway. I am a slave to Bioware. /sob

I was already spoiled about Joker, and believe me, there was a nasty big bout of emotion-out-of-proportion-to-a-video-game when I learned. *hugs* But given I knew that... I already knew it wouldn't be the story I wanted. I think that makes this easier.

Still, GDI, we don't all want to be depressed, Bioware. Jeez.

(Also, is it bad or good that to me the most irritating thing about this rollercoaster is that it makes it harder to focus on Star? SHUT UP ABOUT ME3, WORLD, I'M WRITING IN MY HAPPY PLACE).

I hope it's a good thing because I'm having the same thing. My reaction to most of the drama has been "wow, I'm glad I finished that fic before my heart broke because I don't think I'd be up for it anymore..."
