So. Yesterday Meagan informed me that the room coming free in her appartment is mine if I want it. Anyone who's heard about the people I currently live with may be excited to hear that...but the difference in rent is around $600, and, not having a job, it just may not be feasible.

Which brings me back to square one, except that now I'm thinking about money, and that's never a good thing. See, if I start to think about money, I start to get jealous and bitter. And if I start to get jealous and bitter, then I start to feel guilty, because a huge number of people here at school are in tougher straits than me, including some of my friends, and of course there are a huge number of people who can never afford to make it to school, not to mention starving children in India, etc. etc.

Now, as I was walking towards the art dept. I dreamt of how nice it would not to worry about rent at all. The standard way to deal with this is to make enough money that it's not a bother - but so, theoretically, would living in the art department.

Kind of.

If no one caught me.

Of course, there's the issue of all my stuff. There's only so much you can put in ann art locker, and with a few basic nessecities it'd be pretty full up. Food would get spendier, because cooking becomes quite difficult. I probably can't get rid of rent by living in the art building. On the other hand, it's still an exciting idea to try, like those kids in the book that run away and live in a museum! And then it hits me - it could be a money making opportunity. Everyone can place bets on how long I'd get away with it, with the winner taking half the pot and me getting the other half! Bingo!

I think the book you mean is

I know of an even better place to live in hiding. The PAC. There are some really cool nooks and cranies to hide in. So when you run out of time in the art building we can move you there.

When it comes to thinking about money you could always do what I do.

Don't think about it at all. Just completely ignore it, assuming naively that it will all will work out in the end.

Note: I in no way actually recommend this policy. It will end up biting you in ass at some point in the future. Only a complete fool would try and manage finances like this.
