Wonder upon my creation, miracle of science, proof of the triumph of human intellect over adversity. Behold, I have made...
Dinner!
And it smells damn yumbly, too. It's an egg thing...or a naked Quiche. Julia says it's a 'gratin', but I vaguely remember Xavier from L'Auberge Espagnole mentioning that gratins don't contain eggs. I have to believe Julia, in the end - because she was a spy.
I also have apple crisp in the oven, which makes today one culinary festival.
On the other side of today, I tried to do a few things on the phone with the account I pay my college bills out of, and the guy was very 'helpful' and, it turned out later, didn't actually do any of the things I'd asked, all of which he said he'd done (they included rather biggish things, like stopping a large cheque - a cheque made out to myself, but still dangerous if it bounces). Mom called and discovered that and hopefully fixed it. In the process, we both rubbed our noses in how low the account is, which means I'll probably close it in the next couple months. So I didn't spend more than $30 today (groceries and nessecary art supplies), but I'm very aware of how close to broke I am.
On the upside, I've got a painting commission from a student friend. I should've asked for more money, but at least it's something. If anyone knows someone who wants a portrait or a small website, please, by the Little Fishes, send 'em my way. For websites, anyone too cheap to pay
masterrobyn. For the watercolor portraits, I charge between $50 and $100.
