After a mostly caffeine-less month, a single shot latte will do amazing things to the body...even more so when coupled with unhealthy amounts of post-valentine cheap chocolate. That's why on Friday by the time my parents arrived to scoot me up to Cananananada, I had cleaned the mouses house, cleaned my house (kitchen & bathroom, floors, appliances, light fixtures inclusive), and filed my taxes. Anyway, I suppose I earned my day in Vancouver.

My family decided that next time we're crossing the border at a 'peak time' and it's moving slowly, we'll get out of the car and palaver with as many of the neighboring vehicles as possible. We'll have sheets with the lyrics to 'Oh Canada.' When we hit the actual checkpoint we'll all burst into song! My Dad thinks the Canadian border cops'll be so overjoyed they'll start to dance on top of their little booths.

Also, we're rewriting the song 'Camelot'. So far we only have "They do not detain people without charges", but I'm sure we can go on from there.

See, Mom, Dad, and Doozer were on their way up to go to Whistler with Beth and Dennis. We stayed at their place last night - Doozer and I shared a futon, which hasn't happened in ages. He made a normal teenage flap about it despite the whole different sleeping bags thing, then thoroughly amused my parents and I by moving closer and closer to me in his sleep - by the time he woke up I only had about a foot left - I'd been awake for more than an hour, watching this. He always was a cuddly little boy (He also sings in the shower. LOUDLY). Anyhoo, it was lovely to see Beth and Dennis, the kitty-cat didn't freak out much at all the company, and we went out for dim sum in the morning. I ates a chichen feet! Yes, yes I did.

I was dropped off downtown and met [livejournal.com profile] crazyasterix. It is IMPOSSIBLE to fit nine months of experiences into four hours of conversation, but we gave it a damn good shot! It was really nice to talk with her about all sorts of things, and thankfully neither of us kept track of the abominable jokes. Next time perhaps we'll have more time, and hopefuly she'll feel better - I'm thinking healthy thoughts at ya, Obs! Sadly, she had to leave for that vile working thing, so I hung 'round downtown a bit more then caught the greyhound back to B'ham. On the greyhound I met a Mexican named Alex who was, has to be said, a dish...absolutely lucious. Nice guy, too. He has a girlfriend...er. Anyhoo, where was I?

Oh, right. I'm back in B'ham now, with impending Japanese girls on the horizon, a book - Understanding Comics - which some people here NEED to read, and a rather huge lot of arting to do. I also have two requests for my lovely reader(s):

1. go to the Seattle Times and vote for Martin...I've met him. Friend of my Dad's.

2. If anyone has any idea how I might be able to comfortably put up three Japanese girls, or has extra sleeping bags/blankets, for Little Fishies sakes, call me! I'm not sure whether they intend to stay here or not. I asked, with the caveat that I wasn't sure I could find blankets etc...and the response was 'we need blankets, looking very forward to hung out with you!' So, yeah.
